We get a lot of questions from visitors regarding the closing of the Grand Canyon during winter.  The North Rim closes the middle of October and remains closed until the middle of May.  However, the South Rim remains open all year.  Sometimes snow can close the west rim drive and the east rim drive, but the Grand Canyon Village remains open all year.  Here are a few things that you can do during the winter time.  No matter the time of the year, there is always something to do at the South Rim.
